Feather Light

DAY-3:

There  are few moments in everyone's lives where we feel ENOUGH, where we feel that we need a break. A break from the daily routine, same people and a break from life in general. Such emotions crossed me as well. This poem is written when in such moods.

Whenever I used to lie down,
Thinking to myself.
With nothing for company
but the chirping crickets
and the howling dogs.
Eyes open, but seeing nothing.
Doing nothing, but wishing.
Wishing that I could be something,
something other than me.
May be for a brief period of time.
Wishing that I was a feather.
Ever so light, flying
getting caught in a blast of air.
But still floating away in peace.
I wish I could be that.
Floating away from everything
Surrounding me;good and bad.
Floating over my dear ones,
to see if they miss me,
or if they even care.
Floating over the murmurs,
often targeting me.
Invisible, untraceable.
Wish I was a feather,
floating away from plastic.
Emotions and people.
Wish I was a feather.
Ever so light, flying always.
Getting caught in a blast of air
but still floating away in peace

Love?

He walked towards her,
Silently, never letting go
Through his piercing gaze.
Trying to find something
In her, that was his.
Searching for that heartbeat.
If it still beat for him.
He found her insides empty
No heartbeats, no thoughts.
He rubbed his eyes,
Clearing the pearldrops
That blurred his vision.
He tried again.
To find something in her
That was his.
He saw it this time.
A silhouette of a woman
Bending over a man.
A man he recognized,
A man he knew so well.
A man, that was him.
Lying lifeless on a cold floor.
But not as cold as the heart
That put a dagger in his.
Twisting and turning the knife,
Till her eyes saw
The last gasp leaving him.
She stood up smiling
Looking down at another prey
Leaving others a lesson.
A lesson of heartbreak
A lesson of love.
A lesson of life..

The Final Push

Extinguish my eyes, I'll go on seeing you.
Seal my ears, I'll go on hearing you.
And without feet, I can make my way to you,
without a mouth, I can swear your name.

Break off my arms, I'll take hold of you
with my heart, as with my hand,
Stop my heart, and my brain will start to beat.
And if you consume my brain with fire,
I'll feel you burn in every drop of my blood
